H. Smith,
CFP®,
Managing Principal
As Managing Principal of the firm,
Mr. Smith serves as Chief Executive Officer. In
addition, Mr. Smith oversees client relationships,
assists in new business development efforts, and works
directly with many of Trust Company’s not-for-profit
clients. Mr. Smith, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®),
has over eighteen years experience in the financial
services and wealth management industry. Mr. Smith
joined Trust Company after an eight year career with a
number of closely held businesses in the fields of
commercial finance and real estate development. Mr.
Smith currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Elon
University, and he is a current member of the Board of
Visitors of the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill. Mr. Smith is also a Director of the Burlington Day
School and the Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Bill graduated Phi Beta
Kappa from the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill with a B.A. in Economics (1988) and the College for
Financial Planning (1999).
